Confidence can be a weird thing. Some got it, some are working on it, and some have no clue where to start.
Coming from a girl who has always struggled with figuring out who I am as a person, you can imagine that my confidence has wavered from time to time. I have struggled in the past with a fear of failure where I never truly felt confident in my abilities.
This constant sense of caring and thinking too much about what others think of me has slowly started to drift away because of my focus and determination.
Don't get me wrong...I still have those moments when I feel inadequate. But those moments are fewer and further between. I now know those times will pass quickly, and self-assurance is right around the corner because I know how to help myself.
Here are a few suggestions that I use.
Up and At 'Em!
One of my favorite things to do when my confidence is at an all-time low is get up off my butt and start moving!
I never feel more confident than after I crush a little workout. Any form of exercise can work for this, from a short little walk to a body-busting HIIT workout that makes you feel like gelatin. You know, the workouts that make you feel like death during, but make you feel reborn once you finish? Those are the ones that give me the energy boost I need to feel good about myself.
Incorporating this into everyday life can make a huge difference, and I would strongly recommend making room for a bit of exercise before taking on the day.
I love when I take the advice I give myself and raise those endorphins!
Make It up!
Sometimes all a girl needs is a little bit of extra self-care and a new look.
Putting time and effort into yourself is necessary, and everyone can do this in their way. Maybe you could color your hair, buy a new outfit, get a tan, or even meditate for 20 minutes.
In the end, you need to choose what's going to help make you feel more confident in your skin.
Pampering yourself is not selfish or wrong. In fact, it's vital to help you feel refueled and refreshed.
I like to let my roommates or my friends or sometimes my boyfriend know that I want to dress up a little bit and do something fun. Perhaps we go to a cute restaurant we've wanted to try or do a little Instagram photoshoot. Whatever it may be, giving myself that extra time to get ready and pamper myself helps me feel all the more confident. When I look good, I feel good.
Living healthy can be hard at times. If you struggle with mental or physical health, confidence can be even more of a hurdle.
A great way of overcoming the journey of trusting and loving yourself is partnering up with a friend. Find a friend who is on the same path and form an alliance!
You may think you're the only one struggling with self-doubt. Believe me, you are not alone. You would be surprised who in your life is just waiting to build their gumption, courage, and confidence! Dive in together and be there to support and uplift one another.
A partnership can be a game-changer. They can be the person that holds you accountable, reminds you how far you've come, builds your self-esteem, and offers you support and love. They're your hype-man, and you are theirs.
You Got It, Babe!
I am confident in YOUR ability to learn to love yourself. Self love is such a crazy magical thing, and can truly change your perspective on many things, so be patient, take your time, explore yourself, and enjoy the ride.
Life is crazy, but life is beautiful, and so are YOU!
Peace & Love,
